OECD forecasts 2014 growth of just 0.5%

P(ANSA) – Paris, May 6 – The OECD on Tuesday said it has revised down its economic-growth forecast for Italy for 2014 from 0.6% to just 0.5%. The prediction compares to the 0.8% forecast of Premier Matteo Renzi’s government. Italy’s recovery is weak after the economy emerged from its longest postwar recession in the second half of last year. The OECD said it expects Italy’s gross domestic product to increase 1.1% in 2015 thanks to a “return of confidence” in the economy and the “moderate tax cuts” introduced by Renzi’s executive.BR/P
