Milan bourse closes +0.43%, investors love football shares
(ANSA) – Rome, October 15 – European markets closed positive, with Milan’s FTSE Mib index adding 0.43% to close at 18,999 points.
Italian football clubs were in high demand after Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir signed a deal to acquire a 70% stake of Inter Milan on Tuesday. Shares in Roma AC added 29.4% to close at a historic high of 1.67 euros a share, and Juventus shares rose by 28.5% to close at 0.33 euros.
In Madrid, the IBEX index rose 1.13% to close at 9,805.30 points. The Parisian CAC-40 index closed up 0.78% at 4,256.02 points, and the London FTSE-100 index rose 0.64% to close at 6,549.11 points. In Frankfurt, the DAX index jumped 0.92% to close at a record 8,804.44 points.
