Benedict to attend double canonization

P(ANSA) – Rome, April 23 – Benedict XVI will attend Sunday’s double canonization of former popes John Paul II and John XXII, which will be presided over by his successor Pope Francis, a senior Catholic clergyman announced Wednesday. “Rome will see an event that has never taken place in the history of the city – two living popes and two popes who are saints,” said Monsignor Liberio Andreatta, the vice-president of Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (ORP), a Vatican body involved in the event.BR/P
